North Holland, situated on a peninsula between the North Sea, the Wadden Sea, and the IJsselmeer, captivates visitors with its rich history and diverse landscape. Idyllic towns, vast flower fields, dikes, dunes, and nature reserves characterize the region. The largest West Frisian island, Texel, is another highlight.
In contrast, Friesland presents itself with its unique lake landscape, crisscrossed by rivers and canals. Here, cyclists will find a paradise to enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. A cycling tour along the IJsselmeer ideally connects these two regions and allows you to explore the breathtaking scenery and charming villages.
Don’t miss the world-famous flower fields, which bloom in all their glory in spring. The Keukenhof, one of the largest flower parks in the world, is particularly enticing, with a sea of tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths in all colors, shining brightly and exuding an intoxicating fragrance.

In the morning, you should definitely take time to stroll through the old town of Enkhuizen with its numerous villas, canals, churches and city walls. Tip: A visit to the Zuiderzee Museum is highly recommended. You then set off on your first cycle tour to Hoorn. Look forward to the historic old town with its many buildings from the 17th century.
Day 3: Hoorn – Lemmer | Round tour Lemmer, approx. 33-44 km
In the morning, sail across the IJsselmeer to Lemmer in the province of Friesland. There you start the round trip via Oosterzee Buren to the Tjeukemeer and via Munnekeburen, Scherpenzeel and Schoterzijl back to Lemmer. The longer tour also takes you around the Rottige Meenthe and Brandemeer nature reserve. Tip: Visit the world’s largest steam pumping station "Woudagemaal", which is still in operation.
Day 4: Lemmer – Stavoren – Harlingen, approx. 31-41 km
Cycle to the Sondeler Leien lake, from there through the Rijsterbos forest area, past the Mokkebank (bird reserve) to the Roode Klif in Stavoren. From there the ship sails to Harlingen. The Frisian port city is known for its magnificent warehouses and patrician houses, canals and bridges, for its tidal harbor Noorderhaven and for its many café terraces and stores.
Day 5: Round tour Harlingen | Harlingen – Oudeschild, approx. 40-50 km

Day 7: Den Oever – Medemblik – Enkhuizen, approx. 50-72 km
Today you have the choice between a longer and a shorter tour. From Den Oever, a small village with a historic fishing port and an active fishing fleet, you can either cycle west to Julianadorp, continue through the dunes south to Callantsoog with one of the most beautiful beaches in the Netherlands and then east via Kolhorn, formerly a harbour on the Zuiderzee and now surrounded by meadows, to Medemblik, or you can choose the shorter route that takes you through the beautiful region of Hollands Kroon on the former island of Wieringen, with magnificent views of Medemblik, the oldest city in West Friesland.
