A great-trip Passau to Budapest, with some room for improvement
We booked two weeks Passau-Vienna and Vienna-Budapest. Clearly the trips were conducted by two different companies and with different sets of procedures. A uniform way of presenting materials between the two weeks would have been better. Examples: The difference is most noted in the presenting the path directions. The first week used standard Danube map book with notes/suggestions. The second used a modified version of the map book, with the path clearly marked. In both cases, I took the notes./maps etc and made my own turn-by-turn direction using my Strava app and because Strava for iphone does not support turn-by-turn, I uploaded the gpx file to Komoot.de and used that to give me directions. It made a world of difference, as we passed other bikers confused, we were in good shape. That took a lot of time on my part, but was worth it. What would have been better is for Rad+Reisien to already have usable (because the ones you do have are not usable) gpx files from specific hotel to specific hotel. You use a finite number of hotels, so this is not an impossible task. Also consistency in baggage allowance between week 1 and 2. Week two allow an extra bag, but since we had already packed for the rules of the 1st week. We paid 120 Euro to leave a bag in Munich.
